In this week’s Wedding Wednesday post, I fulfill my promise to share how we will display our
Wedding Advice Cards. This will be part of the display inside the entry of the church and will replace a standard guest book. You could also use this same system to display seating assignments for your wedding.
I knew I wanted something big that would make a statement so I went hunting at our local Habitat for Humanity re-sell shop. It is packed with all kinds of awesome recycled and used home items. When I saw this old wooden screen for just a few bucks, I knew it was perfect. It is BIG! Over 5 feet tall and 3 1/2 feet wide. Plus, it had a fresh coat of black paint on it, so I wasn’t even going to have to scrape and paint it. Score! All I did to prep it was to remove the screening which took a whole 3 minutes.
I picked up a few spools of sparkly silver ribbon from the craft store and used a heavy duty stapler to attach them evenly on the back of the screen frame.
A couple packages of mini clothes pins work perfectly to secure the cards to the frame. I can’t wait to see all the advice the guests leave for the happy couple!

This reminds me of how my daughter displayed her guests’ name placecards for her recent wedding. She used old window frames from barns on the farms where her parents grew up. You are doing a fabulous job thus far in creating a lovely wedding on the cheap.
