Oatmeal Dinner Rolls

These are our favorite whole grain roll recipe!  The oats make these rolls super tender and moist.


  • 2 C water
  • 2/3 C milk
  • 1/2 C butter, softened
  • 4Tb brown sugar
  • 4 Tb honey
  • 2 C whole rolled oats
  • 1 C rolled oats, ground in food processor or blender
  • 2 pckg instant yeast
  • 2 Tb vital wheat gluten
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 2 C whole wheat flour
  • 3 C bread flour


  1. Lightly spray a half sheet pan with nonstick spray.  Roll the dough into 35 pieces, about the size of a large golf ball.  Place on the greased pan.  Let the rolls rise for 90 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Once the oven is hot, bake the rolls for 20 minutes.  Serve warm or store leftovers in an airtight container.
