Ingredients

6 tablespoons all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of kosher salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
5 tablespoons milk or buttermilk
1/3 of a beaten egg
1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat waffle iron.
- In a small bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients.
- Add the wet ingredients and mix just until it comes together. Do not over-mix! Let sit for 2 minutes.
- Cook in hot iron according to appliance directions.
Notes
You want lumps and a few small streaks of flour in your finished batter. If you over-mix, you waffle will be chewy and dense.
