Meet the Team Behind My Kitchen Escapades

Anthony Vipond, Head Chef

Anthony Vipond Chef of My Kitchen Escapades

Hi! I’m Anthony Vipond, the head chef at My Kitchen Escapades. I have been working in restaurants for the past two decades, and in 2017, I opened my first restaurant, Whiskey Bird, in Atlanta, GA.

After spending over half my life working in restaurants, cooking has always been a big part of my life. It all started with my parents’ delicious home cooking and from living overseas in Hong Kong and Japan when I was young. In high school, I got my first job as a dishwasher at a small local restaurant, and from then on, I was hooked on cooking and the whole restaurant industry. I’ve had the opportunity to work in restaurants all over the country.  In 2017 I moved to Atlanta and opened my own restaurant, Whiskey Bird.

Along the way, I met my awesome wife, and we’ve now got two amazing girls and a dog named Ladybug. Life’s pretty hectic juggling restaurant work and family time, but I always try to whip up meals for my family—even if it’s in the morning or prepping early in the week because I might stuck at the restaurant come dinner time.  At the end of the day, I, too, want to help everyone create Fun, Flexible, Flavorful, and Family-Friendly food at home.  This is why I took the opportunity to take over for Carole and share My Kitchen Escapades with you.

Carole Jones, Chef (2008-2023)

Carole Jones is a cookbook author, food blogger, and mother to six crazy kiddos! She started the My Kitchen Escapades blog in 2008 to try to get her kids to eat something other than chicken fingers and french fries. It has since grown to include a range of great recipes, but it has always focused on being Fun, Flexible, Flavorful, and Family-Friendly.

Carole’s children are now grown with kids of their own so she decided to pass along the site and spend more time with her family.  So, in 2024 My Kitchen Escapades got a new “head chef”, myself, Anthony.
