Hi! It’s nice to meet you and thank you for visiting My Kitchen Escapades. I’m Anthony, the head chef at My Kitchen Escapades and I am excited to share my cooking experiences with you.

I currently live in Atlanta, GA, but my restaurant and cooking adventure began far from here. I grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and spent part of my childhood living in Hong Kong and Japan. My passion for food was ignited early on by my family’s cooking, combined with the amazing food I experienced living abroad. This led me to my first job as a dishwasher at a small neighborhood restaurant down the street from our home. After school and on weekends, I’d come home soaked and exhausted after work, but I loved every second of it. The fast-paced, thrilling restaurant environment had me hooked, and I knew this was the industry for me.
Education
After high school, I headed to Ithaca, NY, to attend Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Here, I got a solid education in restaurant and hospitality management and operations.
Restaurant Experience
With my degree in hand, I moved to San Francisco to work as a restaurant manager at Simco Restaurants on Pier 39. I gained invaluable experience in these bustling high-volume restaurants while enjoying stunning views of the bay, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge every day.
But I soon missed being in the kitchen. So, I decided to move to sunny LA to join Hillstone Restaurants as a chef at their Houston’s and Gulfstream concepts. This is where I really honed my culinary skills and met my amazing wife, Lindsay.
In 2014, an opportunity took Lindsay and I to NYC, where I switched out of the kitchen to work for Chopt, a fast-growing fast-casual salad restaurant, as a Director of Supply Chain.
Finally, in 2017, we settled in Atlanta, GA. Here, I opened my own restaurant, Whiskey Bird, and a consulting company, Back of the Napkin Hospitality. It has been an incredible adventure. I cherish every moment I spend at Whiskey Bird, always looking for new ways to “surprise and delight” food lovers. Now, as the head chef at My Kitchen Escapades, I’m excited to continue this journey and share my passion with more foodies.
