- 1 pound asparagus
- 6 ounces sliced prosciutto, sliced in half
- freshly ground pepper
- Preheat either the grill or your oven’s broiler to high. If using a broiler, raise the oven rack to 4-5 inches under the heat source.
- Trim about an inch off the bottom of the asparagus to remove the tough end. Wrap one halved slice of prosciutto around one asparagus stalk, then repeat with the remaining ingredients.
- If grilling, place over high heat until the prosciutto becomes crisp and the asparagus tender, about 3 minutes then flip over and grill another 2 minutes. If you are using a broiler, place the asparagus on the rimmed baking sheet, leaving plenty of space between each piece so they don’t steam. Place under the broiler for 3 minutes until the prosciutto becomes crisp and the asparagus tender. Remove from the oven, flip each piece and return to the broiler for another 3 minutes. Sprinkle on the pepper and serve immediately.
