Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Tb canola oil
  • 7 Tb sugar
  • 2/3 C popcorn kernels

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium high heat and add a couple kernels of popcorn. Once those kernels pop, your oil is the right temperature. Add the sugar and then popcorn, stirring well with a wooden spoon. Reduce your heat to a little over medium. Keep stirring well with the wooden spoon.
  2. Once the popcorn begins to pop, put on the lid and shake the pot very well every 20 seconds to keep the sugar from burning. Immediately after the popcorn has finished popping, pour it into a large bowl. Do not let it sit in the pot or the sugar will begin to burn. Salt the finished kettle corn as much as you like!
